Cemsuisse, the Association of the Swiss Cement Industry, represents the industry’s interests at a national and international level in its dealings with politics, administration, associations, the media and the public

The association was founded in 1881 as the Association of Swiss Cement, Limestone and Gypsum Manufacturers and introduced, among other things, the world’s first standards for cement strength. Today, cemsuisse sees itself as an important source of information for the general public on all things cement-related.

Cemsuisse offers transparent, easy-to-digest information on the industry’s commitments towards sustainable, environmentally sound cement production. The association also prepares cross-company data for authorities and the public, and promotes educational and research activities in the field of concrete use and cement production.

Cemsuisse publishes yearly reports that provide key figures on annual cement production, sales and the environmental impact of the cement industry, Swiss cement industry, and also reports on the progress made by the sector in reducing its CO2 emissions and enhancing sustainability. The association works in partnership with BETONSUISSE Marketing AG to raise awareness on the economic, innovative and sustainable ways in which concrete can be used.
